Madison Hughes is the captain of the United States Men’s Rugby Sevens team. The 5′ 10″ player was named captain of the US National Sevens team in September 2014 at the start of the Sevens World Series that year. The Eagles captain was born October 26, 1992 in London, England and started playing rugby while at school there. Hughes played college rugby for Dartmouth and played fullback for the United States National Under-20 rugby union team. Hughes was the top scorer of the tournament at the 2012 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy with 72 points. He started playing for the national Sevens team in 2013 and was named captain the following year; quite an accomplishment at just 21 years old.
