Alev Kelter, a native of Eagle River, AK, began her storied athletics career playing hockey and soccer. It wasn’t until she missed selection for Team USA’s Hockey team at the 2014 Winter Olympics that she considered giving rugby a shot. Needless to say, she hasn’t looked back and is averaging 3 points per game across 13 tournaments. Be sure to watch out for her strong kicking game in Rio.
Kelter actually captained the U.S. women’s ice hockey team to the gold medal at the 2009 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women’s U18 Championship.
